There are some pricey cars, and then there are the world’s most expensive vehicles. If you are dreaming of owning one of these cars, the ones making the top ten most expensive list, you might have to sell your grandmother to be able to afford one. Or at least hope to be in her will. The following have been made as street-legal drivers, but how practical and fuel-efficient they are is up to your discretion.

10. Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita

This ride, the Trevita, from the Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg translates into ‘three whites’ and refers to its super lightweight build. Only three of these diamond-finish carbon fiber supercars were made, and weighing only 1,000 kg; it is equipped with two carbon wings, paddle shifters, carbon ceramic brakes and a high-tech infotainment center. This racer has a 5.0-litre engine, burns ethanol and emits 1018 horsepower and 780 ft.-lbs. of torque. It is priced at $4.8 million.

9. Lamborghini Veneno

Italy’s prestigious car manufacturer, Lamborghini, celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with the launch of the Veneno. Translated as ‘poison’, the Veneno is striped with the tri-colors of the country’s flag on the sleek, aerodynamic body. Only nine were made following the company’s previous supercar, the Aventador, and its 6.5-liter V12 engine was upgraded to 750 horsepower and 507 lb.-ft. of torque, and is capable of spinning out zero to sixty in 2.9 seconds. It comes with a price tag of $4.5 million.

8. W Motors Lykan Hypersport

When it came out in 2012, the Lykan Hypersport was billed as Arab’s first supercar. The twin-turbocharged flat-six engine produces 750 horsepower and tops 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. Only seven were produced by this Beirut-based manufacturer at a selling price of $3.4 million each. The hefty price tag is justified by the vehicle’s LED lights laced with diamonds and scissor doors. The interior is even more impressive with a Holographic Display with illuminated information and upholstery stitched with gold.

7. Mansory Vivere Limited Edition Bugatti Veyron

It took six months to rebuild, but Mansory stepped up to the plate to complete the one of a kind Bugatti Veyron as commissioned by Emilia Motors in 2014. Completely customized inside and out, the luxury edition has a shortened hood, carbon fiber doors and fenders, aerodynamic wings and a notable ‘V’ between the LED running lights. Inside illuminates with ambient LED lighting and leather upholstery matches the black and white exterior. Above all, the W16 1,000 horsepower engine helps motor the car on its alloy wheels and high-performance tires. It sells for $3.4 million.

6. Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio

Limited to a production of only six, the Sergio went from concept car in 2013 to reality in late 2014 and 2015, marking the eighty-fifth anniversary of Pininfarina. Based on the 458 Spider, a windshield was added to the concept Sergio and the roof removed, which shed weight off the body. The headrests butt the roll-bars, where the air intakes for the clutch and gearbox oil cooling reside. The car is fast. Its 562 horsepower 4.5-liter V8 can go from zero to sixty-two in three seconds on wheels painted gold with a diamond finish. Get all of that for a mere $3 million.

5. Pagani Huayra BC

Unveiled in early 2016, the Huayra BC is lightweight and Pagani’s most powerful performance vehicle. It is a seven-speed manual with a 750 horsepower twin-turbo Mercedes-AMG 6.0-liter V-12 engine. Exceptional performance comes from the electrohydraulic actuation system and lightweight electronic shifting and carbon fiber synchros. Even the suspension, made from HiForg aluminum, saves weight. So do the carbon-ceramic brakes, coupled with forged wheels. The entire vehicles weigh in at 2,685 pounds and $2.6 million.

4. Ferrari F60 America

Ferrari one-upped its own F12 Berlinetta with a production of only ten F60s. The red, white and blue theme, with star-shaped hubcaps, celebrated the company’s sixty years in the North American market in 2014. Inside, the flashy seats are adorned with a strip of the American flag and rich red highlights on the center console, dash, and doors. The 6.3-liter V12 engine speeds with 730 horsepower and can go from zero to sixty in three seconds. The entire production sold out with a price advertised at $2.5 million each.

3. Bugatti Chiron

The latest Bugatti, the Chiron, comes with a lower price tag than the previous model, the Veyron, but regarding performance, it comes out on top. Featuring a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 pumping out 1,500 horsepower and 1,180 lb.-ft. of torque, this speedy roadster can go from zero to sixty in 2.5 seconds. Its exterior has been described as having a “melted-scoop-of-ice-cream styling, ” and its interior is a mosaic of leather, aluminum and carbon fiber. Drivers have a choice of five drive modes, most of which are activated by a steering wheel-based dial. This one is priced at $2.5 million.

2. Koenigsegg One: 1

Premiering in 2014, the name represents the ratio of the car’s output of one megawatt to its power to metric weight, or in other words, its kilogram to horsepower ratio. The seven cars manufactured are equipped with an aluminum 5.0-liter, four cylinder V8 engine and produce 1,341 horsepower. The weight is kept down with a carbon fiber body, aerospace grade aluminum uprights and lightweight roll-bars front and back. Inside features user-friendly controls and high-tech information systems. The One: 1’s price is listed at $2 million.

1. Koenigsegg Regera

This hybrid plug-in performance car runs on a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 and three electric motors and comes equipped with a 4.5-kWh battery pack. With its overall 1,500 horsepower, the Regera can go from zero to sixty in 2.8 seconds. Its aerodynamic appearance has side lift doors and stands out with a wing at the back, capable of folding down. Unique to the company is the Koenigsegg Direct Drive system. Koenigsegg limited the production to eighty vehicles, each priced at about $2 million.
