The latest Volkswagen Golf R is a sports car in disguise. This hatchback is a five-door all-wheel drive with a modest front grille and black brake calipers to match the side mirror caps. It has a marked appearance with four exhaust tips to accommodate the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The larger turbo pumps out 292 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque and goes from zero to one hundred in 5.1 seconds. Compared to the GTI, it is faster and more powerful inside, yet conservative on the outside.
