This Rolls-Royce Could Be The Most Expensive New Car Ever

The Rolls-Royce automotive brand is no stranger to producing some of the most expensive cars in the world. But for one lucky anonymous car lover, this customized Rolls-Royce Sweptail coupe might be the most expensive new car ever sold. It has reportedly been in the works since 2013, and the buyer reportedly paid a cool 12.8 million dollars for it. Aside from its enormous price tag, the car is also making headlines for having a somewhat strange appearance.

What The Buyer Wants

The buyer of the one-of-a-kind coupe is unknown. According to a press release from Rolls-Royce, he was referred to as “a connoisseur and collector of distinctive, one-off items including super-yachts and private aircraft.” He reportedly asked the car company to make something especially for him that was inspired by the Rolls-Royce cars of the 1920’s and 1930’s. The buyer mainly wanted a coach-built coupe topped with a glass roof, a rear departure angle, and a swept tail.
