Here’s What's Inside Trump’s Presidential Motorcade Known As ‘The Beast’

When it comes to the POTUS, there can be no taking chances. The President of the United States currently has some of the highest security around, for good reason. With great power comes great responsibility, a responsibility that the President’s security detail must take on. The current POTUS, Donald Trump has some of the safest - and sleekest - rides, from Air Force One to ‘The Beast’.

While the President’s vehicle looks like an average Cadillac, it has a number of very specific features that make it stand out. Known as “Cadillac One”, it is often referred to as “The Beast” because of the level of protection it offers the POTUS in the event of an attack. Here are some features that make it stand out:

The fuel tank for the vehicle is not only bulletproof but also contains a special foam substance that will ensure that explosions are not possible when exposed to major sources of heat. The entire rear compartment of the car is protected by bulletproof glass. While this may seem like a standard protective measure, the partition between POTUS and the front seat is also bulletproof and completely in his own control. If that wasn’t enough, the rear section has its own supply line of oxygen. This can help ensure that the President is safe from anyone in the front of the vehicle if someone were to gain access as well as from chemical attacks. The vehicle is so secure, in fact, that only the front driver window opens, and only by a mere three inches.

The driver of the vehicle is also specifically trained to help protect the President and get him to safety. Not only are they trained with dangerous driving incidents so that they can get the President out of a serious situation, but they are also given security training by the Secret Service. They can perform a “J-turn”, spinning 180 degrees on the spot to alter course.

In the event of a serious problem, there is also blood stored inside the car in the event that a blood transfusion is required.

The tires are bulletproof and reinforced with steel so that they are able to maintain their structure and allow for driving in the event of an attack. The vehicle doors and chassis is also protected with heavy-grade armor. While Obama’s motorcade was extremely thick, the new version will have 8-inch thick armor.

The front of the vehicle has tear gas launchers in order to calm mobs and help with evasion. There are night-vision cameras, so that no matter what the situation, the driver will always be able to find their way out and back to safety. If there are problems getting away, there are also high-powered weapons inside the vehicle that the security detail are trained to use.
