July 16, 2022

After the long-loved video game series, Need For Speed hit theaters with a box office of approximately 203.3 million USD. The stunts used by the brilliant supercars were real, some of the featured cars were the real deal and some made special cameos. These cars made a mark in the history of car stunts and remained in the hearts of many. Here are 15 memorable cars from Need For Speed.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

The Bugatti was considered the fastest production car in the world at 267.8 mph, but it lost the title when it was found that the company had removed the speed limiter that was present in every production model. The actual model has a maximum speed of 258 mph. The model seen in the movie is not the actual model, but just a replica. Most of the other supercars shown are also replicas built in the U.S.A. Apparently, the car gave real feels, which means a lot of hard work went into the making of it.

1966 Ford F-100

The fourth generation of the Ford-F series is a line of pickup and commercial trucks produced by Ford. The car appeared in the movie when Tobey first gets out of prison and rides in this car. It was the first generation car, with a boxy styling, unlike the curvy appearance of other cars.

Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

Saleen S7 is one of the most intense hand-built supercars ever made in the history of racing cars and it is the updated version of the original S7 and has a high speed of 248 mph. Steve Saleen is the mind behind the concept and direction. It is the only car that came out of the Saleen camp as completely original and all the others were just tuned versions of other vehicles. The layout of S7 consisted of rear mid-engine and rear wheel drive. The car was under production from 2005-2009 and was assembled in U.S.A.

Custom 2014 Ford Mustang GT500

This car was the spotlight in the movie and was used by Paul's character Tobey Marshall as the main machine. The car was made to perform many extreme stunts, which include putting it through many paces by changing it to airborne, speeding and drifting the car to its limits to showcase the best performance at a max speed of 202 mph. A special stunt performed was the car hanging miles above the Grand Canyon by a single chain, tied to a helicopter. Mustang, no doubt, won the hearts of car lovers.

1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396

This car was assumed to make a very limited appearance in the movie if one goes by the preview. It is not a good sign as Camaros are some of the most stylish and elegant cars ever manufactured. The 396 Chevy engines used in this car are still talk of the town. The car was manufactured by the General Motors and assembled in California, Ohio, and Switzerland. The SS package was produced within a fairly high budget, so it should have been used as one of the main supercars in the movie. It has a tap out speed of 119 mph.

McLaren P1

The successor of Mclaren F1, P1 redefined the concept of a supercar. The car was designed in a way that pushes every boundary. The car showcased phenomenal performance in the movie and offers an incredibly high speed of 217 mph.

1969 BMW 2800 CS

In the late '60s, 2800 CS was part of BMW's ' New Class,' with a new face and attractive look with a hint of sportiness for the mainstream. This class was broadened to two-door sports sedans. It was manufactured to become the direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz 280s. The 2800 CS has a max speed of 123 mph.

1969 Ford Torino GT

This car is Aaron Paul's favorite car featured in the movie. The reason might be because it was not fabricated like the other supercars, but, he should be respected for choosing one of the classics. Torino was one of the greatest parts of automobile history and its look proved it. Torino went through a few performance oriented changes. This model had a more prominent center dividing bar. Torino appeared quite a lot of times in the movie and fascinated the audience, thanks in large part to its impressive maximum speed of 130 mph.

1987 Porsche 944 S

944 S, manufactured by Porsche, was a supercar introduced in 1987. It had four valves in each cylinder head and used a dual overhead cam that featured a high performance. It was the first of its kind to use the four valves per cylinder heads. Porsche 944 S had improved power - a maximum speed of 140 mph - as well as strengthened wheel bearings and brakes. The car was better than its base model as it had improved acceleration and top speed.

2015 Ford Mustang

The best thing happened to Ford was the independent rear suspension. Its convertible feature makes it look longer and muscular. This model has improved interior, looks more solid and the tech is good. It appears in Need For Speed as a racer car and it was used as one of Tobey's main cars in the movie.

1971 "Big Oly" Ford Bronco

This beast of a car looks quite random, but if one goes back to when Parnelli Jones, the racing legend, ran the Mexican 1000 with a closely similar car and won it then Big Oly, can not be underestimated. It is named after the Olympia sponsorship. However, the model shown in the movie is not quite the same.

GTA Spano

GTA Spano, a supercar, is built by Spania GTA. It is one of the rarest of its bunch with only 99 units being produced. Its layout consists of a rear-mid engine, which can reach 217 mph and rear-wheel drive. It has a panoramic glass roof, which gives a sense of spaciousness inside. The car looks very sophisticated from the outside, but it is equally simple from the inside.

1967 Pontiac GTO

Pontiac GTO underwent some styling changes due to which it has its own unique style. It went through some mechanical changes as well. The long body and vertically stacked headlights set it apart from the other supercars. The Pontiac GTO has a high speed of 120 mph.

Koenigsegg Agera R (Multiple)

Agera R was featured prominently in the movie. It is a mid-engine sports car assembled in Sweden. Initially, during the test sessions, the car broke six world land speed records for a production car. Its performance can not be underestimated, looking at its record-breaking speed of up to 273 mph.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

This car was once one of the most highly in-demand of its era due to Lamborghini's production versions of this concept, but it never released the official top-speed specifications. Audiences were highly fascinated by this supercar due to its appearance and its sophisticated cuts. It is a two-door, two-seater car and a lightweight limited edition. The layout consists of a mid-engine and all-wheel drive.
